Vermont Vet-to-Vet Non Profit OrganizationVeteranOwnedBusiness.com is proud to welcome Vermont Vet-to-Vet, Inc. of Northfield, Vermont (Washington County VT) to the Veteran Owned Business Directory Non Profit Section.

Vermont Vet-to-Vet, Inc. Details: Vermont Vet-to-Vet offers peer-to-peer support to veterans of all eras, including those who are now returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. It is essential for Veterans to be able to safely, and confidentially, talk about issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use issues, family issues, bi-polar and borderline personalities disorders, and many other disorders and reoccurring illnesses. The importance of Vermont Vet-to-Vet peer support is that these Veterans will trust and talk to a fellow Veteran in most cases before they will a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or VA doctor. Peers offer each other an understanding that comes from having experienced a similar situation or problem.

Disabled Veterans Committee on HousingVeteranOwnedBusiness.com is proud to welcome Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing of Winchester, Virginia (Frederick County VA) to the Veteran Owned Business Directory Non Profit Section.

Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing Details: I am John S. Lewandowski; President/CEO of the Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, also I am 100% disabled veteran with loss of use of lower extremities due to a service connected injury. I like many of you when confronted with my injury didn’t know where to turn and it became almost impossible for me to get around my home, so I had to turn to outside help in this matter. Boy, little did I know how expenses and how time consuming it became; it took over 3 years just to get a contractor that didn’t want to take an arm and a leg for their work. Here is the list of categories that the Veterans Administration will provide grant assistance to our veterans.

The categories are as follows:

  • Debilitating injury such as loss of or loss of use of lower extremities,
  • Loss of or loss of use of upper extremities (paraplegic and quadriplegic),
  • Loss of or loss of use of one upper & lower extremities,
  • Severe burns over greater than 70% of their bodies,
  • Blindness,
  • TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury),
  • ALS and many more…

I said that there should be an easier way for us veterans to eliminate all this hassle, so I started an agency that can setup a “One Stop Shop” called Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing. Our Board of Director’s is made up of Disabled veterans like ourselves and we have made the work of getting your home either remodeled or a newly accessible and affordable home built to your specifications.
