The following information has been provided by the CA DVBE Alliance about their upcoming free training classes for vets and disabled vets in Sacramento California:
Overview:
A 24-hour program presented in six four-hour sessions that gives attendees the opportunity to learn or to review basic business skills relative to starting and operating a small business.
Who Should Attend:
Disabled veterans and (on a space-available basis) veterans who currently own and operate a small business, or who are considering becoming an entrepreneur, and employees of these companies .
The curriculum covers the following subjects:
- The Business Plan
- Computer & Communications Tools
- Organization
- Business Licenses and Permits
- Insurance
- Location and Leasing
- Accounting and Cash Flow
- How to Finance Your Business
- E-Commerce
- Buying a Business or Franchise
- Opening and Marketing
- Expanding and Handling Problems
- International Trade
- Contracting with the State and Federal Gov’ts
We usually spend more time on finance and accounting, and on marketing.
The first set of classes is scheduled for: July 7-9th from 3-7pm at the Small Business Development Center – 1410 Ethan Way Sacramento, CA 95825
The second set of classes will be the week of July 27th. Specific dates soon to be announced.
