- Brings total site visitors for 2009 to nearly 250,000.
- Page views for October 2009 surpassed 280,000
- Brings total for 2009 to nearly 2 million page views.
- Average number of pages viewed per visitor equals 11 pages.
- Average time spent on site still exceeds 5 minutes per visitor.
- 334 veteran owned business profiles added in October. Brings total member profiles to nearly 2,500.
- Total of 17 new spotlight sponsors and enhanced listings added in October, 2009.
- 14 non profit organizations who help veterans, active duty military and families of veterans and active duty military were added to the Veteran Owned Business Directory in October, 2009.
*To put everything in perspective, VeteranOwnedBusiness.com has had nearly 5,000,000 web hits so far this year. Most sites track web hits and not actual visitors or page views. April’s website stats for VeteranOwnedBusiness.com are now completed. We are very happy to announce that once again our latest record was smashed by what continues to be a dramatic rise in monthly visitors and page views.
Here are April’s numbers (rounded):
13,500 = Site visitors for April 2009
188,500 = Page views for April 2009
1,600 = Different external sites that brought in traffic in April 2009 (does not include search engines)
4,500 = Different search terms used to find VeteranOwnedBusiness.com
April’s numbers were dramatically higher than the numbers for March (which was our best month to date). What continues to surprise all involved is the number of page views. Unlike many sites, VeteranOwnedBusiness.com visitors seem to spend several minutes on the site and tend to view several pages before leaving (average of 13).
These numbers are great since the main objective of VeteranOwnedBusiness.com is to help businesses owned by military veterans grow. For an apples to apples comparison of other sites that broadcast their website statistics: VeteranOwnedBusiness.com had 413,890 web hits for the month of April 2009. For our stats packages, we look at actual visitors. Web hits traditionally register server hits not visitors and often times can include numerous hits for links, images and more from just one visitor on one page.

We have finely found the time to go through the pages and pages of statistics in order to determine several key website visitor numbers for the 1st quarter of 2009.
In short, the combined website visitor numbers for VeteranOwnedBusiness.com far surpassed our 1st quarter forecasted website traffic. In a little under 150 days since going live (Veteran’s Day 2008), we had over a quarter of a million pages viewed! Here are the numbers:
27,872 = Site visitors for 1st quarter of 2009 (75% higher than forecasted)
286,342 = Page views for 1st quarter of 2009 (15% higher than forecasted)
10.3 = Average number of pages viewed per visitor (200% higher than forecasted)
3,330 = External sites with links to VeteranOwnedBusiness.com
10,633 = Different search terms used to find VeteranOwnedBusiness.com
April’s numbers have already surpassed numbers for March (which was our best month). With several press releases planned, a direct mail and telemarketing campaign planned and several other promotional programs planned, we expect the 2nd quarter of 2009 to continue to grow and exceed all 1st quarter traffic numbers.
