Comments on the Military and Business Ownership...
“Prior to joining the DOL or FCBOE, Shannon spent 10 years in the U.S. Army where she was a Petroleum Supply Specialists. Even though Shannon never achieved leadership rank, she always had leadership positions. Having the position of running the Battalion retail point for of 260th Quartermaster at Hunter Army Airfield, Shannon kept accurate and impressive numbers. Being on an E3 did not stop her from displaying her leadership abilities by having five soldiers on her team. Later Shannon transferred to a unit where she led by running the Hazmat inventory for Charlie Company 324th Signal Battalion. Also during her tenure, Shannon led HHC 171 Aviation POL section by being the only female in a twenty-one man platoon during their wartime operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom. She handled all admin, operations, and accountability for her platoon sergeant. Shannon had two deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and one during Bright Star Egypt.”
