Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day (WHVVD). On May 18, 2010 Gov. M. Jodi Rell signed into law HB 5352 proclaiming March 30th of every year the official Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day. CT became the second state in the nation to do so, CA being the first. The state of CT has no formal celebration for this event, so Steve Kreider, who was at CA's first event started a group of volunteers consisting of Vietnam Vets, active duty military members, and community persons trying to organize the inaugural "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" here in CT. We have secured a site for the event and on April 10, 2011 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at the Cheshire High School Football Field CT will have it's first "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" celebration.
