The 6th Branch is a nonprofit organization carrying out aggressive community service initiatives in Baltimore City with the goal of providing returning veterans with a continued sense of purpose and duty, as well as a support network and mentorship. We are in close partnership with the Veteran Artist Program, a nonprofit organization that promotes the artistic work of veterans into the mainstream creative arts community. Thus, we often incorporate an artistic element to our community service projects. Operation Oliver was launched in August 2011 and is a long-term campaign of service in Baltimore's Oliver Neighborhood, an area devastated by crime and economic depression, and made famous by the television show The Wire.
