The VFW is hosting its first-ever Facebook town hall meeting to discuss VA education benefits, how the VFW is fighting for education on Capitol Hill and the VFW’s new scholarship program for veterans. The town hall will take place Jan. 16, at 3:00 p.m. (CST).

Facebook Icon LogoRepresentatives from the VFW’s “1 Student Veteran” program will be on hand to answer questions relating to the GI Bill and other VA benefits. They’ll be joined by facilitators of the new VFW “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship,” who will detail the program for anyone interested in applying.

The VFW believes America’s veterans should be able to take advantage of the education benefits they earned without running into obstacles such as difficulty in filing, delayed or wrongly denied benefits, etc.

Similar to the VFW’s recent Twitter chats, subject matter experts will answer questions for one hour, working to provide useful and accurate information and resources to all participants in the town hall.

Any Facebook user can participate by visiting the VFW Facebook page at the time of the event. Users will simply present their question in the comments section of VFW’s post announcing the town hall has begun. It is possible that not all questions will be answered in the given time frame, so participants are encouraged to vote for the most important questions by giving them a “Like.”

“ Like” the VFW’s Facebook page for more information about upcoming Facebook town halls. Don’t forget to join us LIVE on Jan. 16.
